Tears

It is so appropriate that the word tears can be pronounced as 'teers' or 'tares'.
The first refers to the drops or streams that flow from our eyes when we hurt.
The second refers to a rending of something, such as a heart or dream torn to bits.
"I shed tears because of the tears in my heart," then, would be a correct sentence.

This was written a few years ago ... Homecoming. Sunday, Chunky Baptist Church will celebrate its homecoming. My brother is the guest speaker. Lunch will follow. For a lot of us, the word "homecoming" has certain connotations -- food, fellowship, honoring a person or group, celebration, memories, friends and family. Star Wars and Star Trek and Stargate the movie, SGU, Lost, and Bob's Burgers are groovy, Criminal Minds and new guitar strings, Even that Josh Whedon cancelled show thing. Black and white movies and certain old teachers, McQueen and the series of books 'bout Jack Reacher, Dekker and Clancy, Bradbury and King, These are a few of my favorite things. When the bugs bite, when the kids fight, When I'm feeling morose, I just think of a few of my favorite things, Then wish for a root beer float.
